I think black skinny jeans go with absolutely everything, especially this pretty floral tee. Read on to find out where I wore it…
Last week we went out to a local restaurant, Solar do Farelo, with friends. Considering it’s so local, I’d never actually been before. But it’s very popular with the folk that live around here, especially other foreigners. I must say, I was very impressed. We had such a delicious meal that I’m looking forward to going back some time soon. Next time we go, I’ll try and remember to take photos.
Black skinny jeans
Because it was a fairly casual evening, I decided to wear my black skinny jeans (Levis), which haven’t been out of the wardrobe since last winter. I’m delighted the weather is cool enough to wear them again. However, I must say I’m a bit disappointed in the fabric of these particular jeans (which I bought from a Levis outlet store last Christmas). It’s the kind of denim that everything sticks to – and being black, it highlights everything, so I have to keep a lint roller handy. Unfortunately, I forgot to roll the bits off before taking these photos…
I must say I really don’t care that ‘people’ are saying skinny jeans are on the way out. They will always have a place in my wardrobe – I think they’re fab and I certainly can’t imagine not ever wearing them. And besides, who cares if something is in or out? I most certainly don’t!
The evening was still relatively warm so I chose to wear a floral tee that I bought from C&A in the summer. You might remember it from this post when I wrote about the fact I was initially unsure about the top because I thought it was a little ‘old’ for me. I’m glad I changed my mind. It’s one of those tops that will instantly brighten an outfit.
I also wore my favourite pair of black heels, bought from Clarks a few years ago. They’re super comfortable and so pretty. Don’t you agree? And I think they go really well with the black skinny jeans.
And here’s a photo of what my gorgeous husband wore on the same evening. He’s become a fan of skinny jeans too!
Local couple assaulted
But back to our evening out… during the course of the evening, we noticed an ambulance and police car drive past. We watched the blue lights disappear around the corner, before returning ten minutes later and stop outside the restaurant. The owner went out to see what was going on. It turns out they were looking for a house where an assault had taken place.
We later found out that a local Dutch couple was the victim of a horrid crime. It is believed the husband was shot and his wife viciously assaulted whilst their attackers stole whatever they could find in the house. This kind of thing is very uncommon where I live so it’s very frightening to hear it has happened so close to home. I really do hope the police find out who did it and throw them in jail for a long time.
