Impulse buys: blue velvet shoes

Blue velvet shoes4

Here is the perfect example of an impulse buy. I bought these gorgeous blue velvet shoes a couple of weeks ago in the sale for a bargain (and I mean a serious bargain – under 10 euros!) even though there is a problem with one of the ankle straps. Basically, it’s almost impossible to put the strap back through the buckle because it’s a little bit too thick at the end. But I didn’t care, I totally fell in love with them and I just HAD to have them. Besides I figured at that price, I could take them to the local cobbler and he could somehow fix them for me. Needless to say, I haven’t been yet. But I will, because I LOVE these shoes and I can’t wait to wear them when the weather improves.

I also bought a really cute pair of wide leg navy trousers which looked lovely together with the shoes when I tried them on in Pull & Bear. Both the trousers and the shoes have a vintage feel (1940s perhaps?) which I adore. I don’t have enough 1940s items in my wardrobe – something I so have to fix.

The 1940s was a magical decade for fashion, don’t you think? Women tended to look so put together and feminine and I love that. I’d love to have a 1940s makeover – that would be amazing! Although I’m not sure how they would style my hair 😉
