Bright pink. It was always one of those colours that I LOVED wearing. In fact, my favourite dress when I was sixteen years old was bright pink. It was skin tight and super short – one of those really stretchy ones, do you remember them? My favourite way of wearing it was with high-top trainers. Like I said, I was sixteen 😉
When I brought this sweater home from my little shopping spree last week, hubby wasn’t too impressed with it. He didn’t say anything to suggest he didn’t like it, he just raised his eyebrows. But do I care? Clearly not. Not anymore anyway. You might remember I wrote a post about dressing for you and no-one else. And this is just the case.
You might have guessed by now that I bought it in the kids section in H&M. It’s definitely a teenage girlie colour, isn’t it? But I love it all the same. I think it looks just as good on my 42-year-old self as it would my eleven year old neighbour! And that’s why shopping in the kids section is such fun, right? Here’s a similar one.
When putting my outfit together, I was actually inspired by my gorgeous blogger pal, Andrea of Living on Cloud Nine from her post here (pictured below). I love the way she combined the sweater and denim shirt with the very pretty necklace. Andrea is such a beautiful person – inside and out. Needless to say I love being inspired by her, and all my other fabulous blogging pals <3
Cowboy boots
I do love to wear black with bright colours (regardless of what the fashion police say) – I think it’s a gorgeous combination, and fun too! So I got out my tight black trousers (they might look like leggings but they’re not) and then something that haven’t seen the light of day for a very long time: my black cowboy boots. I bought them in the sale from Zara, over ten years ago. The reason I rarely wear them is because I can’t get them off alone – I need someone to pull them off for me. Luckily I have hubby to do that lol 🙂 Here’s a similar pair from Schuh.
The statement necklace has appeared on the blog before – it was a gift from Happiness Boutique and it’s become one of my favourites. I love the art deco style of it. Pretty, isn’t it?
But what about you? Do you have a colour that you’ve been wearing pretty much all your life that you simply adore?
