I collected my new cat-eye glasses yesterday. I’d been to the opticians two weeks ago for a check up because I’d noticed my eyesight had been getting steadily worse over the past year or so, and eye headaches are no fun! At the time, I’d ordered new lenses for all three pairs that I already own (and love). You know the ones, the red pair, multi-coloured pair and brown pair. Well, I just couldn’t resist a fourth!…
For years, I’ve been coveting a pair of cat-eye glasses. Have you watched Glow Up? I mentioned it in my last post? Well, one of the judges, Val Garland, always wears the most stunning cat-eye glasses and I just wish I could wear a pair like hers! But whenever I tried them on, they never looked quite right. It didn’t help when Michael laughed at me either! So, I would end up choosing something else instead. This time, however, I went to the opticians alone.
After my test, and we’d organised what lenses I needed, I mentioned that I quite fancied a fourth pair. I also said I didn’t want to spend too much money because the multicoloured glasses I bought last time were rather expensive! So, we started browsing the cheaper lines and I immediately noticed this pair. They’re not overly accentuated cat-eye glasses, it’s quite subtle, but I tried them on (with my mask on, of course) and loved them. The staff at the opticians were brilliantly helpful and I ended up ordering them on the spot. I just had to wait a couple of weeks for the lenses to arrive.
And here they are. Aren’t they fabulous? I only paid 69 euros for the frames and 59 for the lenses, and I’m chuffed to bits with them. They’re very comfortable because they’re quite light, which is always a good thing when you have to wear glasses all day.
On this visit to the opticians, I discovered I now have to use a separate pair of glasses for reading and working on the computer. I didn’t see the point in having an extra pair for that, so I made my brown Hacket London glasses my reading glasses, and the other three pairs are for everyday wear. So now I can switch it up to suit my outfit!
The only problem I’m finding since my prescription changed is that my right lens is so thick that my eyelashes keep fluttering against it lol! Michael’s suggestion was to cut my eyelashes!!! I’d rather just put up with it, thank you very much! Maybe I ought to try curling my lashes before I put on mascara? Hm… I’l keep you posted on that one.
Anyhow, I wanted to wear an outfit to show off my new glasses, and so I went with a camel-coloured look. These camel boots are simply divine, I just adore them. It’s such a shame that my feet don’t feel the same way. I can’t wear them if I know I’m going to be standing for long periods of time, otherwise my bunions scream at me! But they’re good for dinners out—whenever that happens again, that is. I bought them from Massimo Dutti quite a few years ago (in the sale, of course).
The camel leather jacket, however, is a more recent purchase. A Christmas gift from Michael. It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? You might remember it from a couple of weeks ago when I wore it with chocolate brown and pink sequins. Oh, it’s also from Massimo Dutti. I now have three leather jackets from there because the quality is so good and the price is often right (especially when the sales come around!).
I’ve had these black trousers for ages and they only ever get worn in the winter, for some reason. I think they came from Zara. They fit nicely, a bit snug though. The blouse is new. I bought it online from H&M a couple of months ago. It was a bargain, I can’t remember how much, but knowing me it was probably less than 15 euros. It’s super wide though so it needs to be tucked in. But I do like the gathering on the sleeves, it just gives it a little extra je ne sais quoi.
My black faux leather handbag was a Christmas present from my in-laws. Cool, isn’t it? Very rock chick. It would look good with the outfit I wore on Monday too. The earrings are super old, they were a gift from an old colleague, and the necklace was a gift from a friend. I’m lucky aren’t I? I’ve got lovely friends and family lol!
And that’s it, my camel coloured outfit to go with my fabulous new cat-eye glasses. Do you wear glasses? Is there a style you wish you could wear?

Here’s my favourite from last week’s link-up—Jacqui from MummaBStylish. It’s her white boots that caught my attention!? They’re absolutely gorgeous and I love them teamed with the gorgeous dress!
