Black suede jacket – showing off my latest Massimo Dutti purchase

We popped into Massimo Dutti last weekend and I fell in love with this black suede jacket. We certainly weren’t planning to spend €199 but when I put it on, I just knew it was a ‘me jacket’ – so hubby bought it for me! Aren’t I a lucky girl?

I realise black on black isn’t the best way to show the jacket off but it’ll be featuring on the blog a lot in future – no doubt about it. It’ll go with almost anything. Sadly, with the weather warming up here in Portugal, I probably won’t get much wear out of it until the Autumn though 🙁 Sorry for rubbing it in for those of you in less sunnier climes!

Guess what hubby suggested I wear?

On this occasion, we were going to our friend’s place for a barbecue. I had absolutely no clue what to wear (I’ve had so many other things on my mind) so I asked hubby, ‘If you were me, what would you wear tonight?’. His response? In true male fashion, he said, ‘latex’. Typical! But after I raised my eyebrows at him, he suggested I wear white jeans. I have two pairs (one skinny and one flares), and so he chose the skinny pair. I picked out this black and white frilly top to wear with them. I actually bought the top from H&M a few years ago to wear to a wedding (I didn’t in the end). I do like the deep ‘V’ of the neckline, although I’m starting to think I’m not much of a frilly person.

This beautiful necklace was a gift from a lovely friend. How lucky am I? I wore it the first time last year with an off-the-shoulder black top. It’s actually by Vera Wang. Stunning, isn’t it?

Aldo shoes

I love these shoes. I bought them from Aldo a few years ago. The only problem is they are quite high so I can’t wear them for too long, unless I’m sitting down. But I do like the contrast against the white jeans. And they do go well with the black suede jacket.

You may remember the handbag from earlier this year. It was a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law. Isn’t it fabulous?

Showing off my greys

I like this picture because it really shows my greys. The black suede jacket helps make them stand out too. Many people are so anti-grey hair but I love it. I’ve talked about it before so I won’t go on about it now. Suffice to say, it’s so liberating not having to worry about roots showing 🙂
