Chinos – the perfect trousers for dressing up or dressing down, don’t you think?
The weather is slowly warming up here in the Algarve. Although, as I write this, it’s very grey and has been pouring with rain today. Two days ago though, I was out in the garden with my shorts on working on getting a little colour on my legs! Apparently there will be a little more rain over the next week or so but the summer is definitely coming and I’m looking forward to it.
Dinner with friends
Last week, when it was a little warmer, we went out for dinner with some clients who are now firm friends (that happens a lot with us!). Michael had renovated their bathrooms earlier this year and they are ecstatic with the result. If you’re interested in seeing the kind of work Michael does, have a look at the post I wrote about our own bathroom. I’m clearly a very proud wife 😀
Tasca do Kiko
Anyway, we went to the fabulous Tasca do Kiko, one of our favourite restaurants by the boatyard in Lagos and had a lovely evening. As it turned out, I hadn’t really chosen the right shoes for the evening because we were walking from our friends’ apartment to the restaurant (hubby neglected to mention that before we left). Fortunately, it wasn’t too far. I guess it’s a good job I chose wedges and not stilettos to go with my chinos lol!
Brown chinos
The wind picked up a little and it was a bit chilly so I’m glad I took my trusty leopard print scarf (Primark) and a thin black cardie (from a Chinese shop years ago!). I wore my new brown chinos that I found in C&A a week ago. I’d been shopping for trousers or a skirt (or both!) so was pleased to find this pair which are really comfy and will go with almost everything. I’m sure you’ll see the chinos a fair bit this summer.
Strapless Bras
I love this tee-shirt and think it goes well with the chinos. It’s got such a flattering neckline, one which requires a strapless bra – fortunately I found a really good one from DIM last week. Strapless bras can be such a pain in the proverbial, can’t they? I’ve had a few over the years and none have fitted particularly well. I always find they gape at the top which drives me potty. Samantha at Fake Fabulous wrote a great post about them last week. She was doing a giveaway too, you might want to check it out if it’s still on-going!
The cute boho handbag came from Massimo Dutti, as did the wedges. I’ve had the earrings for decades and can’t even remember where I bought them. Oh and this pretty long necklace was another Primark purchase last year – first time I’ve worn it lol.
