Emerald green. Sigh. It’s my favourite colour. Isn’t it the most beautiful colour on the planet? When I bought these wide-legged trousers a few years ago, I couldn’t believe my luck. My favourite colour. My favourite shape. And super comfortable on account of the lovely soft fabric. It’s kind of like a soft cord-like material. I just adore them. And, if you’re a regular reader, you’ll know that already lol. They do feature on the blog quite a bit!
A couple of years ago, I found this blouse in the exact same colour in Stradivarius. Obviously, I snapped it up. (I also bought it in bright red.) The idea to wear the two together had crossed my mind a few times, but I figured it might just be a little too much green. But then last week, I suddenly thought, can you ever have too much green— especially emerald green? Hm? No, nope you can’t. So I gave it a try.
This is the result, and I absolutely love it! I think the addition of the gold bumbag and sparkly gold Vans trainers just breaks it up enough to be less Christmassy, and more stylish, if you know what I mean? Although, some of you are probably thinking—gold? And sparkle? Surely that’s totally festive? Well, yes, I suppose there is that. But you know what? I don’t care! It’s emerald green from head to toe and I’m going to rock it baby! Sorry, got a bit carried away there.
I’ve added hints of pink and lilac, both of which are the most beautiful colours to complement the emerald green. The lilac gel nail polish came in the Mylee kit that I bought last year. It’s pretty, isn’t it? And the gorgeous pink Michael Kors watch was my birthday present from my in-laws last year. Speaking of my in-laws, Jackie also gave me this green and purple bangle and this stunning abalone shell necklace which she’d bought for herself but hadn’t liked! I couldn’t believe it, because it’s exquisite! How can you not like it? The earrings I actually bought myself, I can’t remember where from but I liked them so much that I got them in three different colours lol!
I was just reading up about emerald green and stumbled across this quote:
The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum as it has throughout history, multifaceted emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate. Symbolically, emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.

I couldn’t agree more. Emerald green in the home can be stunning too, and I particularly love it when it’s teamed with gold. Add in some hints of art deco, and I’m all aflutter! It’s probably my all time favourite look, and I can’t wait until our new house is finally built so I can have my dream art deco green and gold dining room lol! But, alas, I shall have to wait even longer because we’re still waiting on paperwork before we can even start. Oh well, I’ll just have to settle on wearing it. Emerald green and gold. Actually, maybe I ought to make that my next mission? Find some art deco inspired clothes in green and gold. Hm. Now there’s an idea…
