Link-Up: a borrowed flat cap, tweed & Harry Potter

Who’d have thought that you could combine tweed, a flat cap and Harry Potter and look good? But where, one asks, is Harry Potter? It’s actually in the little backpack I’m using here. Not literally. I haven’t actually got a miniature Harry Potter in my bag lol. The bag was a gift from a friend a couple of years ago—a friend who knows all about my HP obsession! But this post isn’t exactly about that. It’s more about the flat cap.

A few weeks ago, I wore a fun outfit for the Fab40s theme, Borrowed from the Boys. I loved it so much that I said I would follow up with another. Well, here it is. This time, I’m borrowing Michael’s flat cap. I had fully intended to wear his braces again too, but every time I clipped them onto the back of my jeans, they kept popping off. I must’ve tried about six times and in the end, I gave up and chose to wear my tweed jacket instead. And I must say, this is quite possibly one of my favourite looks so far!

As for the flat caps, Michael is a little bit obsessed with them. He’s got quite a few and wears them all the time in the winter months—especially when he needs a haircut lol! I never really thought that they would suit me though. So, imagine my surprise when I tried this one on and found that it looks pretty good?! This particular one is from our last holiday to Ireland. He’s also got them from Scotland, England and possibly the US.

Now, before you mention the fact that skinny jeans are (apparently) passé, you should know that I don’t care. I have about ten pairs of them in my wardrobe and I am so not giving them up! I love wearing them in winter with my boots and I consider them to be a classic fashion item. So there.

These ankle boots are my latest purchase from Timberland and I was delighted when I found them, because they were exactly what I was looking for YAY! I’ve got several pairs of boots (and one pair of sandals) from Timberland because I adore them—they’re stylish and comfortable which is a real plus in my book! I found some options for you, below, if you’re interested!

As for my tweed jacket (bought from Sainsbury’s a year or two back), I wish I could get more wear out of it, because I love it. It’s such a feminine shape and the colour is so me. However, living here in Portugal, it’s too warm for much of the year to wear a coat. And when it is cold enough, this jacket isn’t quite warm enough for me! I can’t win, can I? So, I’ll wear it the few times I get the chance!

Anyway, that’s enough about my outfit. What have you been wearing this week? And what have you been up to? Please link up all your fab posts to the Neverending Style link-up below. See you soon!

One of my favourites last week was the lovely Alison from Midlife and Beyond, who pointed out a brilliant new site where you can get nearly new Cashmere products at a fraction of the price. I know I was intrigued so I wanted to share it with you, in case you missed it! Check out her post at Midlife and Beyond.
