I’m a little late with the Link-Up this week. Things just seem to have gotten a little busy, but here it is, at last! I’m showing you the outfit I actually wore last night when we had friends over for a bite to eat. It was so, super hot, that when I was getting dressed, I simply reached for something loose and floaty. When the temperatures rise to 30 degrees and over, I just can’t be doing with clothes that are tight. I need a floaty outfit that I can be comfortable in.
I can’t bear the heat. My body just doesn’t seem to react well to it at all and for the past few days, it has been so hot that I’ve been feeling a little unwell because of it. It happens almost every summer, and so I have to dress accordingly. If I could, I’d walk around in nothing but a cotton sheet! But that wouldn’t make the most exciting blog post, would it?! So I’ve opted for a floaty outfit instead!
All items of jewellery were gifts from my mother-in-law and I’ve had both the top and the skirt for a few years. My rose gold sandals were from Aldo a couple of years ago. The pink blouse is from Pull & Bear and the skirt is from Calzedonia. We are often told that one of the style ‘rules’ is to not wear a loose fitting top with a loose fitting skirt. Well, I think this is proof that rules are meant to be broken, right? I love how boho and dreamy this floaty outfit looks. And when I took these photos (at 8am this morning), the golden hour light was so beautiful that I decided to ‘pose’ in the garden on the other side of the house from where I usually take photos. It’s so gorgeous at that time of day.
