If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know that I recently started a new adventure – and it’s not what you might expect! Two weeks ago, I decided to start selling on Vinted, and here’s my honest Vinted review. I had bought a few fabulous items of clothing and shoes there before (because who can resist a bargain?), and I genuinely impressed myself with how smoothly everything worked. But, with the house build gobbling up our funds at an alarming rate, I thought, why not try selling some of my own treasures?
The Jewellery Collection
If you’re a long-time follower, you might remember that I inherited a substantial amount of jewellery from my wonderfully eccentric late mother-in-law, Jackie. When I say substantial, I mean it could probably fill a small boutique! Jackie was a passionate collector, and her motto was, “the bigger, the better!” When she passed away a couple of years ago, she left her entire collection to me.
Selling on Vinted
At first, I felt a twinge of guilt having so much jewellery, knowing I’d never wear most of it. But over the past two years, I’ve tried my best. I’ve worn as much as I can, but the truth is, I’m just not the type to wear lots of jewellery every day. Jackie was the complete opposite – she loved to layer and sparkle – but me? I can’t even manage rings when my fingers swell up in the Portuguese heat!
Vinted is an easy-to-use platform where you can sell and buy pre-loved clothing, accessories, and more. To sell, just snap some photos, list your items with descriptions, and set your price. The best part? Vinted doesn’t charge sellers any fees! When your item sells, Vinted generates a prepaid shipping label, making the process simple. You just print it out, stick it on your package, and drop it off. Buyers pay a small fee for purchase protection, ensuring everything runs smoothly. It’s a fun and efficient way to declutter and make some cash!
My Selling Experience
So, this Vinted review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning why I started selling in the first place. I decided it was time to part with some of the pieces that just aren’t my style. I started with a few of Jackie’s beloved chunky rings, and to my surprise, they sold incredibly fast! That’s when I knew I was onto something. I kept adding more items – necklaces, bracelets, you name it – and before I knew it, I was on a roll!
The Community
This brings me to the best part of my Vinted review: the wonderful community of buyers! In just two weeks, I’ve had so many lovely women return for more. It’s such a compliment, especially as most of my buyers are French – and we all know how stylish French women are! Jackie would have been thrilled. I’ve also had buyers from the Netherlands, Spain, and right here in Portugal, and it’s been such a joy connecting with people across Europe.
Lessons Learned
Of course, my Vinted review wouldn’t be entirely honest if I didn’t share the bumps along the way. As a newbie seller, I did make a few rookie mistakes – like the time I lost a ring (no idea where it went – possibly in someone else’s parcel!) and the time I put the same postage label on two different packages – oops! Luckily, one of my kind buyers noticed I was new to Vinted and offered some sage advice: “Take it slow, double-check everything.”
These ‘accidents’ happened because I was flooded with orders at the beginning and it just overwhelmed me. I’ve since learned to be much more careful and methodical, but hey, every mistake is a learning opportunity, right?
Final Thoughts
So, if you’re based in Europe and fancy some new jewellery with a story behind it, I hope this review inspires you to check out my page. I’ve got lots of gorgeous pieces up for grabs, and I’m adding new items all the time. Jackie would be so happy knowing her treasures are finding new homes and continuing to spread a bit of her sparkle around the world!
