Who’d have thought that leather, sequins and cords could go together, eh? Add to that, suede and tassels, and you have an outfit worthy of, well, erm, a lunch date perhaps? Not that I’ve had any lunch dates lately. Like everyone else in the world, I can’t wait for lockdown to be lifted. It’s been going on for way too long.
Even though we have had no lunch dates, shopping trips, dinners out, weekends away—whatever, it doesn’t mean I can’t play dress up and try on some fun outfits to wear once we are Covid free, right? And this is one such outfit.
A few years ago, I wouldn’t have dared wear these colours. I mean, camel, pale pink and chocolate brown? Not exactly my best tones. However, as I put the leather, sequins and cords together, I kind of liked it. I started off wearing white trainers and then cream trainers (because that’s what I always do—I am such a trainers kind of gal), but oddly enough, I felt the outfit needed lifting with something just a tad smarter.
These Calla ankle boots just seemed like the perfect addition. They’re a grey, taupe kind of colour and are super comfortable. If you’ve never heard of Calla Shoes before, and you suffer from bunions, then you’re missing out. They are the best brand for bunions—stylish and comfortable, my feet are in heaven whenever I wear them. I’ve got two pairs of their ankle boots, two pairs of their ballerinas and three pairs of sandals! Like I say, they are the best shoes for bunions!
I bet you’re probably wondering about this fabulous sequin top, right? Isn’t it absolutely gorgeous? I bought it from H&M a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier with it. I just know it’s going to get a heck of a lot of wear, and I can’t wait to try it with other things. I first mentioned it in my unboxing video a little while ago.
This is the first time I’ve worn my Massimo Dutti camel leather jacket. Michael bought it for me for Christmas. I chose it though lol. It’s gorgeous isn’t it? I’ve been wanting a brown leather jacket for some time, and when I spotted this one, I knew it was the one. I love that it’s quite roomy so I can wear thick jumpers beneath it, which I can’t do with my black leather jacket.
If you read my recent post about my wide-legged green ‘cords’, you’ll know how much I love them and would like them in lots of colours. Whenever I go shopping (used to go shopping, that is!), I always have a look to see if I can find some. Sadly, the shop where I bought them in our local shopping centre (Promod), closed down. Anyway, I found this chocolate brown pair in the supermarket (Continente) of all places. The quality isn’t as good as the green ones, the fit isn’t the best, plus they’re not as wide, but I still like them lol.
My little brown tasseled handbag, also from Massimo Dutti a few years ago, seemed like the best bag for the job. It’s cute, but I wish it was bigger. It only fits my phone!
I’m also wearing earrings from one of my new favourite brands, Happy Ginger on Etsy. Aren’t they stunning? I’ve got two pairs now, and I know I’ll be buying more. I can’t recommend them enough. You can also find Happy Ginger on Instagram—you should follow them, especially if you love anything sparkly!
So, that’s it. That’s my leather, sequins and cords outfit. What do you think? Is it the kind of look you’d go for? Would you wear these colours together?
