One thing we want to do during our travels is to look good. We want to feel confident and happy, and most of all, look back on our photos and see how great we dressed, right? So it’s a good idea to dress well—and comfortably—to feel put together throughout our travels. Here are some helpful tips to look great when travelling…
Avoid pyjama-like outfits
While you’ll want to feel comfortable during your travels, if you want to also look your best, try and avoid choosing comfort over style. This means you should avoid any outfits resembling pyjamas. This should also extend to sports and gym wear. While you can dress in loose-fitted clothing, just make sure to pick what you wear wisely. Whether in a hotel near Westfield Shopping Centre or flying in economy, you can combine beauty and style simultaneously. My own preferred outfit for the journey is comfortable and stylish jeans with a thin sweater beneath a jacket or cardigan (depending on the weather).
Layer up
Layering is a travel style tip that is well worth considering. It can help you pack for travelling light and can also help keep you warm and comfortable during your journey. Using layers can also make your outfits much more interesting. When it comes to layering, it is important to pay attention to proportions. For example, a too-bulky sweater should not be worn with a thin coat. A lightweight, form-fitting cardigan or jacket works well over a flowing top. A cardigan over a t-shirt, and a pretty scarf always works well.
If you have embellished sleeves, you may have difficulty putting on a sweater or cardigan over them. This can cause a lumpy, uncomfortable look. Try wearing a sweater with a different neckline, such as a scoop neck, to give yourself more options. Whether you’re visiting Versailles Palace (below) or just strolling in a city centre in your travels, layering up is going to make you look fantastic and stay feeling comfortable too.
Always pack sunglasses
Sunglasses are not just an accessory that make you look good and can bring an outfit together; they will also help your eye health. Sunglasses can help protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful UV rays. This can help you prevent long-term damage and reduce your risk of eye disease. No matter what destination and time of year you travel, don’t forget your sunglasses.
You can never go wrong with loafers
When it comes to footwear, if you’re looking for a casual yet dapper shoe, try a great pair of loafers. They go well with most outfits and are easily styled up or down. Plus, they are so comfortable, perfect if you’re planning to do a lot of walking. Not only do they look good, but they’re also practical.
Style your hair
Keeping your style simple is the secret to maintaining a great look on the road. For example, if you have long hair, a braid or French twist bun is a great choice. And it can easily be manipulated if you get tired of it. It’s sophisticated and mature enough without looking too outdated. To help you decide which hairstyle to wear, take a few minutes to do a style test on yourself. Doing this will help you narrow down your choices to the perfect fit. Also, if you plan on swimming, deep condition your tresses post-swimming. In general, when it comes to your hair, pick one or two hairstyles during your travels and stick with those two—for holiday ease.
