I don’t usually get my nails done, in fact up until last week, I’d only ever had them done professionally twice. Once when I got married, and then again two years ago as a gift from my mother-in-law. On the last occasion, I had a gel manicure and loved the way it lasted – hated the way it ruined my nails. So when I heard about a new, long-lasting manicure that protects your nails, I really wanted to try it out for my holiday.
I’ve had it for about a week now and love the way it looks. This new system promises to protect your nails, while also allowing the colour to stay put for at least two weeks – although I was told that it often lasts more like three, but we’ll see. I’ll keep you posted!
How it works is with a fine film that is placed on your nails before the gel colour is painted on, allowing you to peel it (apparently in seconds) with no solvent contact at all. You can even peel it off yourself at home – which sounds pretty cool to me. But, like I said, I’ll keep you posted how it goes.
I had my nails done by the lovely Roberta at Beauty Angels in Ferragudo and I only paid 25 euros for the manicure which I think is pretty good, don’t you? Their beauty salon is absolutely gorgeous, by the way. I’m looking forward to visiting them again in the new year – they offer tonnes of fabulous treatments, with emphasis on organic beauty which particularly appeals to me!
