If you recognise these photos, it’s because they featured on Carrie’s blog a couple of weeks ago. While she took some time off, I guest posted for her and was thrilled to do so! I decided to share the pics on my blog today simply because I love this outfit (and because I ran out of time to take more photos lol). I just think it’s really fun mixing different prints. Is it something you like to do?
So on to my outfit… I had pondered for a little while over what to wear on Carrie’s blog and ended up choosing a pair of ankle-grazing checked trousers as the basis for my outfit. They’re both cute and quite versatile. You might be surprised to learn that they actually came from a golf shop! I knew I wanted to have some fun mixing different prints, so I decided to pair them with a print you probably wouldn’t ordinarily combine with checks: polka dots! And then, over the top of the tank top is a crochet / lace kimono. Add in a pair of sexy ankle strap heels, a white handbag and some silver jewellery and the outfit is complete! The heels are from Ecco and are super comfortable—I wore them a few days ago for the post about my gorgeous green, black and purple top. And I bought the handbag from Parfois last year. The kimono is actually a swimsuit cover up from Primark.
You could quite easily swap out the heels for a pair of trainers—I’m actually more of a trainers kinda gal myself, but for today’s look, I wanted something just a little dressier, for a change! After all, it’s not everyday you get to feature on Carrie’s fabulous blog! Rena from It’s All Fine, Whatever is guest posting at the moment, so do head over to check it out! My favourite last week was Emma from Style Splash who shared the most fabulous 80s style orange outfit! Emma is the Queen of Vintage and usually rocks 70s pieces so I was so surprised to see her wearing something (the blouse, obviously!) that was so clearly straight out of the 80s, and I absolutely LOVE it. I also love that I remember that style from that time period too! Check out Emma’s blog, Style Splash.
