I love mustard yellow and white. It’s weird, because when I was younger I hated yellow. It looked awful on me. Now though, it’s a favourite. I’m sure it has something to do with changing skin tone and hair colour as we age. I don’t think it’s a bad thing. It just means we can play around with colour a little more when we go shopping 😉
Massimo Dutti
Last week, we had friends over for dinner and as it was a little breezy, I figured white jeans would make a nice change. This pair came from the sale at Massimo Dutti last summer. They’re super long though so I can only wear them with high sandals – but I do love the flares – I think they’re a flattering shape on most women. It would be good to have them shortened but because they’ve got a turn-up, I’m not sure how to do it. You might remember them from my post on black, red and white.
Extra dessert!
I wouldn’t normally wear a loose fitting top with flared jeans but on this occasion, when I added this thin mustard yellow blouse, it just seemed to work. I tried tucking it in as well but preferred the floatiness of the loose fabric – it also meant I could tuck into the cheesecake I made for dessert ;).
Mustard yellow and white
I must admit that I’ve had this mustard yellow blouse for a few years now and I think I’ve only worn it once! Although I love the fabric and the colour, it is very thin fabric and when I hold my arms out, you can see right through to my bra lol. Hence the need to keep the arms down 😉 It’s also a little transparent!
Jewellery
The necklace is actually two of the same – a gift from mother-in-law last Christmas. There’s something about mustard yellow and purple, isn’t there? Actually, just like mustard yellow and white, any shade of yellow and purple is a match made in heaven. The beautiful old style ring was also a gift from my mother-in-law. And I won the bracelet on Twitter a few years ago (I used to win stuff all the time!).
Are there colours that you love to wear now that just didn’t work when you were younger?
