I’ve never been the sort of woman who spends vast amounts of money on beauty products. The most I ever spent was about £70 or £80 on some Clinique products that proved to be a disaster. My face came out in blotches and spots 🙁 . These days, my beauty routine consists of a few Olay products that I absolutely love.
I was first introduced to Olay as a youngster. I remember my best friend’s mum used to use it and I always thought the smell was heavenly. Back then though, it was known as Oil of Ulay but after having investigated (hello Google), I discovered the following:
In 1999, it was decided to unify the brand under a global name. Thus, Oil of Ulan and Ulay became Olay on a worldwide basis, except in German-speaking regions and Italy, where it remained Oil of Olaz. In the Netherlands and Belgium, it was renamed just Olaz. Wikipedia
Re-discovering Olay
Anyway, back to my beauty routine. For years, I’ve tried numerous face lotions (creams generally make me break out in spots) and it wasn’t until I re-dscovered the Olay brand that I found the perfect regime for my skin. I started off with their simplest day lotion, which is nothing fancy, it just hydrates the skin more than anything. After deeming that a success, I soon realised that I really needed to start looking into anti-ageing options. After all, I had just turned 40 and those pesky little lines were getting deeper!
Anti-ageing
I decided to stick with Olay. After all, if it ain’t broke, why fix it? Right? So I went online, found Feelunique (a brilliant site for beauty lovers) and started to whittle down my options. It didn’t take long for me to choose an anti-wrinkle day cream, night cream and a targeted wrinkle treatment. That was earlier this year and I’ve been avidly using all three ever since. And, even more importantly, I have noticed a marked improvement to the wrinkles around my eyes. Woop! Woop! Even one of my friend’s commented that the creams are doing their job!

After cleaning my face (a quick splash with cool water) every morning, I dab a small amount of the deep wrinkle treatment just under my eyes and gently rub it in.

I then dot a little day cream (which has an SPF of 15) all over my face. Et voila! I’m done. I know it’s probably a very simple routine but it works for me. Ideally, I should also use a proper high factor sun cream but I can’t stand the feeling of it on my face. It’s like my skin can’t breathe, and then come the spots. Ugh. So I’d rather just stick to my simple Olay routine. It works for me and that’s what’s most important.
Olay anti-wrinkle sensitive & natural night cream
I use a little night cream just before bed – very gently rubbing it into the skin and it feels gorgeous.
I know earlier in this post, I mentioned that I can’t use creams on my face, that I usually have to opt for lotions instead. However, Olay seems to be the one brand whose creams work for my skin. I just love them and I hope to continue using them well into old age 🙂 Which is why I’m also delighted to use Feelunique because they have a special 10% off your favourite brand for life. Cool huh? I now pay less than £30 for all three and I don’t think that’s bad at all for something that works so well.
This is NOT a sponsored post – I just wanted to share with you one of my favourite brands 🙂
