The Good Buy / Good-Bye Book is a series that Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge co-hosts with Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really excited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit: a Good Buy or a Good-Bye. Shelbee and Nancy will provide the theme for each month. Photos are submitted to them by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye. This month’s theme is for a nautical look and it’s the first time I’ve taken part on The Grey Brunette.
I’d been wanting to take part in this series for a while, but I just never got round to it until now. I must admit I had no idea what item of clothing I was going to feature for this nautical look, until the very last minute when I suddenly remembered I’d bought a fabulous striped bikini last year that would fit the theme perfectly.
I bought the bikini online from Oysho—and I was (naturally) concerned about the fit, but when it arrived it fitted perfectly! As you might recall from my post and YouTube video about knickers, I tend to prefer a more sizeable shape lol. I don’t go for thongs or Brazilian knickers or bikini bottoms these days because I favour coverage. I mean, my bum and tummy aren’t getting any smaller, any less bumpy or any more firmer lol!! So I’d rather cover them up whenever possible! In other words, I love a bikini with a high waist!
I’ve covered up my derriere and super white thighs with a red scarf which I’m doubling up as a sarong. It does the job perfectly, right?! I’m also wearing an old floppy hat from Primark, tan sandals from Massimo Dutti and a red, white and blue scarf in my hair (you might recognise it from last week). This is the kind of nautical look I would wear if I was spending the day on a yacht lol. All I need is someone with a yacht 😉
