After a few years, I finally have some classy new glasses

New glasses

Last week I had an eye test. It was my first in about two to three years and one I was desperately in need of. But I’ll tell you more about that on Friday. For the moment, suffice to say that I have new glasses, and here they are! Not the best photos, I admit. I’ve just realised that having my hair completely off my face doesn’t do me any justice. But at least I was a little cooler with the hair off my neck and forehead.

I love my new glasses though – as hubby says, they’re very classy, right? Typical of me though, they were one of the most expensive pairs in the shop lol! But so worth it – they’re super comfortable and very light, which is perfect considering I now have to wear them full time…yikes! I really do not like this photo (below) but it’s the best one to show off my new glasses, which are by Hacket. I also ordered some prescription sunglasses too but they won’t be available for a few weeks.

Floral romper

I needed something relatively cool to wear for a dinner with friends at our house. I spotted this beautiful black and white floral romper (or playsuit – I’m not entirely sure what to call it!) in Stradivarius last summer and I just had to have it. It was actually the top half that appealed to me more than anything. After all, I’m not much of a shorts kinda gal. But I simply had to have it.

This was the first time I wore it. The only problem is that it’s quite open at the top therefore it would probably look better on a bigger busted woman. To help cover up the exposed neckline, I used an old brooch. It was actually a little heavy for the fabric but it did it’s job for a few hours!

I do love the floral print and the softness of the fabric, which is perfectly suited for a romper. When the weather is cooler, I’ll wear a top underneath it so I won’t have to worry about pinning it. If I could have this in a full jumpsuit, I’d buy out the whole shop!

New glasses

I didn’t bother with a handbag considering we were eating at home. I simply added my favourite tan Massimo Dutti wedges, a very old choker, (which I love), a couple of brown bracelets and my diamond hoop earrings. In hindsight, I would definitely change the jewellery but I guess it was okay for an evening in (I was running late and so I just grabbed the first things I could find).
