Period knickers, my latest purchases, link-up & more!

OMG I just realised I forgot to schedule this yesterday!! Sorry folks!
I don’t have any outfit pics today so I thought I would just share a random post about period knickers, my latest shopping spree, and more…

Let’s start with my latest purchases. My bestie, Sarah, came over to stay for a couple of days to celebrate her birthday this week and, before the partying started (!), we popped into Aqua, our local shopping centre. I came away with a gorgeous sage green sleeveless blouse and a pair of black floral wide legged summer trousers from Primark, as well as a cute little shorts and tee sleepwear set, which is so soft, and the print is gorgeous. I figured I would wear it around the house when it’s hot. We then had a wander round H&M and I found a cute little cotton ribbed bodycon dress in the sale for 8 euros. Bargain! I thought it would look cute dressed down with trainers and a denim jacket.

Period knickers
I also bought another pair of Primark’s ‘period’ knickers. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen them before, but if you’re still at that stage in your life, they’re brilliant. I hate using pads, and I was always nervous of using tampons because of the possibility of TSS (toxic shock syndrome). So, a few years ago I bought my first Mooncup which is a fantastic invention—however, it can be a bit fiddly and awkward. So when I saw the period knickers last month, I promptly bought myself a pair.

The pair I chose were for the heaviest night of your period, so they’re quite big (think Bridget Jones style), but not unattractive like you might expect. I wore them on my heaviest flow night and was suitably impressed, there was no leakage at all. So I went out and bought a pack of three for lighter days (which come in two different shapes, mini and midi). I wore them during my period last month, and not once did I have to use my Mooncup or pads. I highly recommend them. The only thing is, you’re not meant to use fabric softener with them, which I tend to use on everything (except sheets), so I just wash them by hand. You can get them elsewhere, but Primark is the only place I’ve seen them here in the Algarve. However, I have linked to them in the Marks & Spencer store, below. And here are some I found on Amazon. If I had a daughter, I’d certainly be advising her to try them too!

More Asics trainers
Last week, while Michael and I were in Faro buying a new TV cabinet from Ikea, (we took the photos for the Teddy Blake post there as well), we also ended up in one of his favourite stores—Asics. We left with two pairs of trainers. One for him and one for me! I already own a pair of Asics but they’re a bit too tight so I’ve been a bit dubious about buying more. But Michael said their sizes can be a bit up in the air, so you always have to try them. I was lucky with this pair though, because they were in the ‘bargain’ section. I think we paid 42 euros for them! And…they fit like a glove and are super comfy. Result!

A few weeks ago, I was randomly looking at the Massimo Dutti website when I spotted this black gilet in the sale. Now, I’ve been searching for a black gilet for ages and have been unable to find the right one. It didn’t take me long to put it in my basket lol. It was exactly what I’d been looking for. It arrived this week, and although I love it, it is a bit on the roomy side. Unfortunately, there isn’t a smaller one available so I’m just going to keep it. At least I’ll be able to wear it over thicker sweaters! It only cost me 35 euros in their sale which is a great price. Plus, you can pull the bottom in which helps.

What else have I been up to lately? Hm…well, I’ve been working on more designs in my Grey Brunette store which has been fun. No sales yet though! I’ve also been considering deleting my Etsy store because it’s just costing me money and I’ve hardly had any sales on that either, which is frustrating. I’m still thinking about what to do with it. Here are just a few of my new designs on Redbubble though…
