Using a photography backdrop kit & my latest creations

My photography backdrop kit arrived last week and I’m thrilled with it. It has made studio photography so much easier than when I used a grey sheet hanging up against my wardrobe doors lol. The kit consists of two stands with extendable poles (allowing for wider and higher backdrops), three large fabric ‘sheets’ (in black, white and green) and four plastic bulldog clips. The only thing missing that would’ve been handy are sand bags to keep it from falling over in the wind.

I’ve used the photography backdrop kit several times already—a few times for self portraits and once with a model (see the pics, above). Each time, it worked marvellously. Earlier this week, my model and creative director (ie. a dear friend’s daughter, Cass, and my bestie lol), pictured below, did a photoshoot for some book covers and we had a great time, just like we did the first time we did it, for our forest nymph shoot. I’ll be sharing the book covers soon (see below).

My latest creations

Here are some of the results of my work with the white backdrop. I also used the white backdrop for my Mary Poppins style photo on the Grey Brunette.

And here (below) are some results using the green backdrop, although in hindsight I should’ve used the black one! But I just wanted to see what it was like using a green screen. It was pretty good but when I cut the picture out, there was a green tinge to my gold dress. Removing it proved easy enough in Affinity Photo though.

Fine Art America

By the way, if you’re interested in buying any of my photographic artwork, much of it is available for sale on Fine Art America. There you can buy prints, cushion covers, duvet covers, bags, cards, mobile phone covers, even shower curtains!

And, if you’re an author looking for pre-made book covers, I will shortly be launching my own pre-mades. Needless to say, I’m pretty excited about that! Just let me know if you’re interested or have any questions.
