Off-the-shoulder, pink and floral girlie top: something different for me

pink and floral This off-the-shoulder, pink and floral girlie top isn’t something you’d normally find me wearing. However, in the past couple of years (since starting this lifestyle blog) I’ve learned when shopping that I should think outside the box and try things I wouldn’t normally try. Hence the off-the-shoulder, pink and floral girlie top!

I must admit that when I first put it on, I felt great. Not only is it cute, but it’s also perfect for those days when I’m feeling a little bloated (!). And… it was next to nothing in the sale at Pull & Bear. Although I love pink and I do like florals – to a certain extent – this kind of pink and floral design wouldn’t have really appealed to me a few years ago so I was surprised I liked it so much.

Tasca do Kiko

I wore it for the first time when we went out to our favourite tapas restaurant, Tasca do Kiko in Lagos, with some friends. Little did I know that when we were taking these photos beforehand that I was wearing the top back to front (you can just about see it in the photos, above and below). Fortunately, the back happens to be exactly the same as the front. During dinner, I happened to notice the tag on the inside of the front! Duh! So I sneakily turned it around (easily done considering how loose fitting it is!) and continued with dinner. It’s just a shame that it’s a little transparent so I need to wear a strapless top beneath it.

I teamed my new off-the-shoulder, pink and floral girlie top with my high waisted white jeans from H&M and my lovely Replay heels, which go with almost everything. My trusty gold Massimo Dutti clutch was a must too!

As for my jewellery, I must tell you about my bracelet…

I found a fabulous little shop in Silves the other day, called Namaste (you can probably understand why I wanted to check it out!) and I came out with this gorgeous jade bracelet. If you’re into crystals, you might already know why I chose this one. Apparently, you should wear jade if you want to make a success of your business so I simply couldn’t resist lol!
