After months and months of pretty dismal weather, the summer has finally arrived here in the Algarve. And boy is it hot now! But I’m not complaining because it’s been a long time coming. I bought these pink shorts from C&A a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been desperate to get them out of the wardrobe. Yesterday, I happily cut off all the tags and slipped them on to go out for a coffee with friends. I’m delighted with them. They’re the perfect length, perfect waist height and they’re super comfortable. Great for the hot weather!
As I write this, I’m a snotty, coughing, choking, croaky mess! I’m at the tail end of my head cold and after sleepless nights and headaches, I’m finally starting to feel better. Well, I will be when I stop sniffing, sneezing and coughing so much. But they say a cold lasts nine days, right? So hopefully I’ll be snivel-free and ready for our 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday!
Shortly before these photos were taken, I had the most horrendous coughing fit which ended up with me almost choking to death. It’s incredibly unpleasant when that happens, and for some reason it does happen to me quite a bit. And it’s super embarrassing when we’re out in public! If anyone has any suggestions for how to calm choking fits down, I’d love to hear them!
But back to the pink shorts. I teamed them with this cute gingham top that I found in a charity shop in Ferragudo a few years ago. I’m not sure why but it gives me a bit of a 1950s vibe. Like the pink shorts, it’s a super comfy top due to it’s relaxed fit. And I must admit I do like the neckline because it reveals some of my yoga tattoo!
These cute brown sandals were hand-me-downs from a very close friend of mine and I decided to wear them with this outfit because the knot kind of echoes the knot of the top! Silly really but I quite liked it 🙂
My beige handbag has been on the blog a few times before. It’s one that I bought from Secret Sales a few years ago. And it only ever sees the light of day during the summer months, for some reason! To be honest, it’s not one of my favourites but occasionally it just goes better than all my others!
By the way, if you’re wondering about my hair, yes I’ve gone CRAZY short for the summer! I just wanted it all off so I could stay cool and have a style that was super easy to deal with! I know most of my bloke pals really dislike it. But do I care? Hell no!!!
And finally, whilst taking these photos, we spotted this fab piece of street art and just had to take a photo…
