Hello all! I hope you’re all well and enjoying the slow transition into Autumn. I say slow because it is rather slow here in the Algarve. The nights are starting to get a little chilly (I was actually shivering the other night as we dined outside our local restaurant, and I was wearing a cardie!), but the days are still quite hot. These photos were taken a few weeks ago when a cardigan was not needed. It’s my ruffles and jeans look – boyfriend jeans with a really girlie top. I do love the juxtaposition of such an outfit, don’t you?
But it’s not so much about the outfit, it’s about the cats and dogs too. I just love how we captured little Shannon in full yawn in these pics. Isn’t she adorable? She’s one of three, now over a year old after we rescued them on the side of the road when they were barely ten days old. They’ve become the most loving cats, and we absolutely dote on them (in other words, they’re totally spoilt lol!). They often sleep with us – and I’ll spend an entire night curled up in a weird shape to avoid waking them up lol! Silly, I know. They don’t seem to bat an eyeball at waking us up. But we just love Shannon, Myrtle and Sadie to bits.
When we lost our other cats – Hermione, Scully, Poppy and Robbie, we said we wouldn’t have any more. Oh how things change!
But it’s not just the three cats we have, there are two crazy dogs too! Roxy is getting on a bit now. She must be over twelve years old and she’s starting to get dodgy hips – although you wouldn’t know it when she pushes past you through the gate and escapes down the road!
Luna, our little one, is about eight years old and shows no signs of slowing down. She does love a cuddle and if she catches you paying attention to the cats, she’ll push them out of the way. Being a little dog, she does have a tendency to yap sometimes but other than that, she is a total cutie. And she does love to be in front of the camera with me 😉
As for my ruffles and jeans outfit, this ruffled top is quite old now. It has been on the blog a few times before and probably always with jeans. I do love my jeans and I’m delighted the weather is cool enough to wear them again. These jeans are also a few years old. I bought them from H&M ages ago, and they’ve been brilliant. I wear them all the time at this time of year. You’re probably bored of seeing the shoes because I do wear them to death throughout the summer. But I can’t help it, they’re like slippers!
