After giving it some serious thought over the past year or so, I finally did it. I completely moved, lock, stock and barrel over to WordPress and created a self-hosted site (I don’t even know if that’s the right term but it sounds good so I’ll stick with it).
My previous site was a freebie with Weebly – which was pretty cool but it wasn’t my own, if that makes sense. Prior to that, I was with blogger and ditto, it wasn’t really mine. I always ran the risk of losing everything and that was a pretty big risk for me, considering how much I rely on all this social networking malarkey to sell my novels online.
So here I am – taking another big risk by starting completely from scratch. It’s taking me some time to figure out how to use WordPress and all the weird and wonderful plug-ins, widgets and what nots that go along with it but I don’t think I’m doing too badly so far, and surely it can only get better. So, let’s see. I found this beautiful song by Kathryn Ostenberg that describes how I feel right now.
But this brand new start isn’t just about my books… I’m also planning some pretty big changes in my life over the coming year too. I’ve had a few comments from friends and family who think I just might be having a mid-life crisis or something (all said in jest, I might add) because I’m approaching my 40th birthday in December! But more to come on all that in the future. I’m really excited to start sharing everything with my new (and old) followers and I sincerely hope you’ll enjoy coming on this journey with me. And it will be a journey… oh yes, a long, fabulous journey and I for one, can’t wait! So bring it on! YEAH!
