Last week I mentioned I recently bought some super bright shoes, and because they’re probably the most comfortable pair of trainers I’ve ever owned, I decided to wear them during our weekend in Lisbon. I just adore them! They’re crazy bright and way over the top, but I don’t care. It was actually Michael who encouraged me to buy them, because he owns several pairs already. He is the king of bright shoes lol. In fact, he wore his the same day I wore mine (I know…we’re so cute, right?! LOL).
I wore my khaki high-waisted paper-bag trousers from Stradivarius (which probably aren’t very trendy right now but cares, right?!), and a bright sleeveless top from Zara. The trainers are from ASICS (specifically the outlet store), and I reckon they’d also look really cool with a pair of women’s track pants. I may just have to invest in a few pairs to wear with them! My handbag is my latest, favourite, purchase from Amazon. It’s actually a camera bag from Peak Design and I am absolutely thrilled to bits with it. I’ve got a pretty big and heavy DSLR (Nikon D850) and it fits perfectly and because of the wide strap, it’s very comfortable to wear, even when it’s full of camera gear. I’ve also been using it as a regular everyday handbag, because I love it so much! It’s amazing. I can’t recommend it enough.
We had a wonderful weekend in Lisbon, staying in our favourite hotel, the Porto Bay which is located just off the Avenida da Liberdade, the most famous street in the country. It’s famous for its designer stores, some of which had queues outside they’re that popular (like Louis Vuitton). We spent a lot of time wandering around the shops and I bought a pretty pleated skirt from Mango that will appear on the blog soon. I also got a sexy item of lingerie from Intimmissimmi (which won’t be appearing on the blog LOL).
The main reason for our weekend in Lisbon though, was the food. Seriously, if you’re vegan, or just love plant-based food, then you must visit the city! There are so many wonderful vegan restaurants and the food is divine! Our favourites in the past include AO 28, O Botanista and The Green Affair. This time, our hands down favourite was a place called Honest Greens which isn’t exclusively vegan. They do have some meat and fish on the menu as well, but the vegan food on offer is second to none. We first discovered Honest Greens in Barcelona earlier this year and totally fell in love with it. I just hope they might consider opening a restaurant in the Algarve.
We also had a delicious meal in AO 28 which recently moved location. Now it’s a bit more sophisticated, but the food is still spot on. We didn’t get the chance to go to The Green Affair this time, but we did have a bite to eat at O Botanista (now known as Ortea Vegan Collective). The starters were out of this world, but I struggled with the main dish so I swapped with Michael but I didn’t like his either, which was a shame. We had lunch one day in a place called Kong where I had THE best virgin Pina Colada. OMG it was divine. The burger wasn’t bad but I’d probably go back just for the Pina Colada lol. The staff were lovely though. On our last night, we picked up some vegan sushi to eat in our hotel and it was freaking amazing too! It’s called Legumisushi, and I highly recommend that too.
Now, I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I must mention it again. Scoop n Dough. Vegan donuts and ice cream that are OUT OF THIS WORLD people!! I just wish they would open a place here in the Algarve. Actually….maybe I don’t. I’d probably be the size of a house 😉
I neglected to take any photos of the food, because I was so busy concentrating on taking video content for my YouTube channel and TikTok, but you can see some of the dishes in my video here or just click below.
On our way home, we stopped off at the Freeport outlet mall where we had a Starbucks (I love their Mochas), before I had a wander around the shops, picking up a red sweater and a black tee from Benetton, as well as a gorgeous red handbag from Desigual. I can’t wait to show it all off. I’ve just realised I still haven’t shown you the white outfit I wore to my neighbours 16th birthday party last month, but I think that just might have to wait until next year because the weather is cooling down now (YAY!). As I write, it’s absolutely pouring down with rain which is wonderful because we really need it.
Anyway, that’s enough for now. I’ve shown you my super bright trainers that I wore for our weekend in Lisbon, and now it’s your turn to show me what you’ve been up to this week, in the Neverending Style link-up, below! See you soon!
