I don’t often find great stuff in thrift shops—but a couple of months ago I spent an hour or so browsing the local charity shop in Carvoeiro (the town where I grew up). I found a few little gems, including this white shirt dress from Asos. It’s a small size yet it’s extremely wide-fitting, so I thought I would probably just wear it with a pair of jeans…skinny jeans if you must know!
However, it’s way too hot here for skinny jeans at the moment so I figured I would just brave it and get my legs out. I know, I know…you hardly ever see my pins because, well, I’m just not particularly fond of them really. But…every now and again I am brave enough and this is one of those occasions!
Because the white shirt dress is so wide, I decided to add a wide belt too, just to cinch the waist. But if the weather gets any hotter, I’d probably get rid of it, as there’s nothing worse than tight clothes in the heat. For now though, it’s just about acceptable! I added my favourite brown wedges and a tan leather handbag—both of which are pretty old. I also added a brown necklace which I bought from a market stall many years ago. All in all, I’m pretty pleased with the way it turned out—even with my legs out. I guess it makes a difference when you slather them in body lotion lol! But even that’s a problem at the moment because my little dog, Luna, has a strange habit of licking it off. She’s so weird lol!
Here’s what the white shirt dress looks like without the belt (or shoes or jewellery lol). By the way, please don’t forget to add your posts to the Neverending Style Link-up this week, so we can all check out all your fabulous posts!
