If there’s one thing I’ve always loved, it’s socks. They may seem like a simple, everyday item, but to me, socks are much more than just footwarmers. Over the years, I’ve collected an array of fun, quirky designs that add a splash of personality to my outfits, no matter the season. Lately, I’ve been shifting my wardrobe to embrace a more witchy, gothic, and Victorian-inspired aesthetic, which feels like a natural fit considering my passion for all things supernatural. I’ve become obsessed with Vinted—not just for selling a load of jewellery, as I wrote about last week, but for finding incredible pieces that match the witchy, cottagecore, fairycore, vampirecore, and gothic styles I’ve always loved. For years, I’ve been wishing my wardrobe looked like something out of a magical witchy movie, and I’ve finally decided to go for it. I don’t care that I’m nearing 50 either! Although I once had my eye on those fabulous pink heeled Crocs (yes, with bows!), I’m now hunting for something darker and more in tune with my new vibe.

When it comes to socks, there’s a pair for every occasion, and they’re one of the easiest ways to switch up your look. In the winter, I love nothing more than snuggling up in thick wool socks, especially when paired with my black Croc slippers. They’re perfect for keeping me warm while I enjoy a cup of tea with Luna by my side, or when Michael and I are binge-watching one of our favourite shows. In the summer, on the other hand, I favour invisible socks. They’re brilliant for wearing with trainers, keeping things breathable and comfortable, especially on those long, exploratory drives I love. But just because they’re “invisible” doesn’t mean they aren’t essential! A good invisible sock can keep you feeling fresh all day long without compromising on style.
And of course, let’s not forget those fun, brightly coloured pairs that I can’t resist. I’ve always been drawn to bold designs—think rainbows, stripes, and quirky patterns. Even as I shift towards a more ethereal, gothic look, I still love adding a pop of colour to my outfits with a statement pair of socks. They’re a simple way to let my playful side shine through, no matter what style I’m rocking.

While this post is more about my love for socks, I’d be remiss not to mention how wonderfully they pair with Crocs.
