Welcome to November’s edition of Songful Style! Hosted by myself, Shelbee (Shelbee on the Edge) and Marsha (Marsha in the Middle) Songful Style is a collaboration featuring outfits inspired by songs. We’re also inviting anyone who would like to join us, to post their own outfits in the link-up below. It doesn’t matter from what angle the song inspires the outfit, it can be from the lyrics, the title, the tune itself, the album cover, music video, etc. Last month our song was Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift and was chosen by me. This month, our Songful Style song was chosen by Shelbee and is Witch Doctor by Ross Bagdasarian.
So, how on earth does one style an outfit based on such a fun, yet way out song? Hm?? Not easy, right? Where to turn? Well… to Alvin and the Chipmunks of course! So, I looked at the most recent version of Alvin and his buddies’ series and checked out what Alvin was wearing. A hoodie. Simple. So, I put on my red Superdry hoodie and teamed it with a pair of wide-legged blue jeans from H&M, as well as my newest pair of platform sneakers (Puma) and grabbed my camera and tripod for a few easy pics.
Not what you might think of when you think of the words Witch Doctor though, right?! LOL! But it’s my interpretation and an interpretation that needed to be done in a hurry. You see, we’ve literally just got back from our impromptu trip to Switzerland (yesterday) and I have had no time to even think about our Songful Style post over the past few weeks. So it was fortunate that it ended up inspiring such a simple look lol!
Next month there will way more thought put into the style post, as the next song, chosen by Marsha is Here to Forever by Death Cab for Cutie. I’m excited to style that one, it should be fun! For now though, let’s see how the others have styled this fun style prompt, Witch Doctor. Did you join in this month? If so, please don’t forget to add your links to the link-up, below! See you soon! x
